Physiotherapy Session

Sports massage Therapy

Sports Massage Therapy is a targeted, therapeutic form of massage designed to support athletic performance, recovery, and injury prevention. While commonly associated with athletes, sports massage is beneficial for anyone who engages in regular physical activity or experiences muscle strain from repetitive movement.

This treatment focuses on specific muscle groups used during sport or exercise, applying techniques that address tension, restricted movement, and soft tissue stress.

Myofascial release

Myofascial release massage is a gentle, hands-on therapy that focuses on relieving tension in the fascia—the thin, connective tissue that surrounds and supports your muscles, bones, and organs. When fascia becomes tight or restricted due to stress, injury, or poor posture, it can cause pain, stiffness, and limited movement.

During a session, the therapist applies slow, sustained pressure to targeted areas to stretch and loosen fascial restrictions. Unlike traditional massage, myofascial release often involves minimal oil and long, steady holds rather than rhythmic strokes.

Pressure Point Massage

Pregnancy and labour massage

Pregnancy and labour massage is a specialized form of therapeutic bodywork designed to support women during pregnancy and childbirth. It focuses on relieving the physical discomforts associated with pregnancy—such as back pain, hip tension, swelling, and fatigue—while also promoting relaxation and emotional well-being.

During pregnancy, massage uses gentle, safe techniques and supportive positioning to accommodate the changing body. In labour, massage can help reduce pain, ease muscle tension, encourage relaxation, and support breathing and coping strategies during contractions.

Overall, pregnancy and labour massage aims to provide comfort, reduce stress, and enhance the birthing experience for both mother and baby.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, rhythmic massage technique designed to stimulate the body’s lymphatic system and encourage the natural flow of lymph fluid. The lymphatic system plays a key role in removing waste, reducing swelling, and supporting immune function.

MLD uses light, precise movements rather than deep pressure. The technique helps move excess fluid away from tissues and toward functioning lymph nodes, making it especially beneficial for people experiencing swelling (oedema), post-surgical recovery, or lymphatic congestion.

This calming therapy can help reduce fluid retention, support detoxification, promote healing, and leave you feeling lighter and more relaxed.
